ST. ROCH'S PARISH
- WEST BANGOR, PA |
|
 |
It was with deep regret that we had to inform you
all
that our beloved parish priest, Monsignor Charles T. Moss
passed away from us on Sunday morning, July 9th, 2006.
We ask you to pray that his soul may now rest in peace.
Words cannot express how much he will be missed by all. |

On Thursday July 13, 2006 the Funeral Mass was held in the church of Our
Lady of Mount Carmel in Roseto, PA.
The Most Reverend Edward P. Cullen, D.D., Bishop of Allentown presided
together with Father James Prior,
pastor of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church and Monsignor George
Tomichek from Philadelphia.
Both priests were close friends of Monsignor Charles T. Moss. The sermon was
held by Monsignor George Tomicheck.
Before leaving the church the Bishop thanked all the faithful for their
presence at this final farewell and praised
Monsignor Charles T. Moss for
his outstanding priestly life. The church was filled to capacity with
standing room only.
The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was attended by many priests, family members,
parishioners, friends and admirers
from nearby and far away. Nothing could be more fitting than the "Salve
Regina" ("Hail, Holy Queen") so spontaneously sung by
all present just before he left the church on his last journey. This was
exactly where this priest was all about: A true Marian priest.
Monsignor Joseph A. DeSantis, once a resident priest at St. Roch's
officiated at the burial site.
After the burial family, parishioners and friends were invited for a
luncheon at the
Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Co. Hall.
The hundreds who attended this gathering showed the support and the greatness of St. Roch's parish.

ICS
Through the years Monsignor was always a strong proponent of Catholic
education and gave his tireless support to the sisters
of Immaculate Conception School. Nothing was ever too much for him and when
needed he was always right around the corner.
It is obvious that they will miss his spiritual guidance and great love for
the kids very much and we therefore
cannot show our
gratitude for his guidance and interest more than by continuing his great
work in supporting the
school and the sisters.
Interesting enough just recently two events were video taped where
monsignor, the sisters, the faculty, the parents and
ICS were
the
main topics. One was the excellent Christmas play presented by the ICS
students and the other one was the Silver Jubilee
of two of the sisters of ICS on April 30, 2006 which Monsignor felt should
not just pass by but had to be celebrated.
In these presentations one can see the priests, the sisters, the faculty and
the parents at work, the enthusiastic
reactions on the students performance and a taste of people all with the
same goal - truly caring for one another.
It is not surprising then that year after year the academic level of ICS
remains to be one
of the highest in Pennsylvania. |
