was a
true Marian priest of Holy Mother the Church to the very end.
St. Roch's closed on July
13, 2008 !
To the dismay of its parishioners the Bishop of
the Allentown Diocese decided to close St. Roch's
permanently.
On July 13 it was exactly 2 years ago that Monsignor Charles T.
Moss was buried next to the church at the Lourdes Shrine.
Only 2 years ago St. Roch's was the most fervent and blossoming parish
on the entire East Coast, it was never in the red and constantly growing.
If
it was ever necessary to close this church many of us will always wonder why because
the tragedy is that this beautiful church was closed not because of
low attendance, lack of interest, any debt or whatever other
reason, but it was closed solely because of a shortage of priests.
Could really
nothing be done here? We need to pray much so it does not get
worse than this.
